Chevrolet Key Fob Programming in Arrowhead, Davie
Fob trouble in Arrowhead, Davie splits into cheap problems and real ones, and telling them apart is the first job: the tech tests what your fob still transmits before programming anything.
How the visit works
Half of dead fobs are a battery, a worn button pad, or a receiver fault. The tech tests before programming, because pairing a healthy fob to a deaf car fixes nothing.
Fobs are model-year and trim specific down to the button layout. We match by VIN so remote start and tailgate buttons actually function.
The fob is programmed through the OBD port at your location, and lost fobs are erased from the car's memory in the same session.
Every button, the emergency blade, and the low-battery start trick get demonstrated before the truck leaves.
Reaching Arrowhead, Davie
Davie sits off I-75 and 595, an easy reach from our base. Ranch lots, horse properties and the university cluster around Nova give Davie calls unusual variety: long driveways one hour, dorm parking the next. The Arrowhead pocket of Davie is squarely inside the coverage map.
595 and I-75 both serve Davie; the route gets picked live by traffic. When a truck is already working nearby, arrival can be quick; when it is not, you get the real window on the phone rather than a number invented to win the call.
Chevrolet keys, specifically
Chevrolet spans four decades of GM security: VATS resistor keys on classics, PK3 transponders, then HU100 laser flip keys, and proximity fobs on current Silverado, Tahoe and Malibu. Every generation programs on site.
Corvettes with pocket-read fobs are a specialty case we quote individually.
Silverado and Tahoe fobs include remote start on most trims; pairing restores it along with the panic and tailgate buttons. Where a blade is involved, Chevrolet uses an HU100 laser blade, cut on the truck to factory specification.
Questions, answered straight
My fob went through the wash. Dead forever?
Sometimes it dries out and lives; often the board corrodes over the following weeks. If it still transmits, a shell-and-battery refresh may save it. If not, a replacement pairs on site.
Can I program a fob myself?
Some older GM and Ford models have owner onboard-programming sequences that work if you still have two live keys. Most modern fobs need a diagnostic tool on the OBD port, which is what the van carries.
Why did my fob suddenly stop working?
In order of likelihood: the fob battery, the buttons' contact pad, interference or a car-side receiver fault. Programming loss is actually the rare one, which is why we diagnose before we pair.
