Erase Keys from Car Memory

After a theft, a breakup or a lost fob, the keys you cannot find should stop being keys.

What this service actually involves

Every key and fob your car has ever been taught stays valid until something removes it. Cars change hands with unknown spares in the world, fobs vanish from gym bags, and an ex sometimes keeps a copy. Erasing the immobilizer's key memory and re-registering only the keys in your hand closes that door completely.

The wipe happens through the diagnostic port at your location and takes one session: existing keys you present are re-paired, everything else dies. On many platforms the same visit can read out how many keys the car currently trusts, which is worth knowing on any used-car purchase.

Questions, answered straight

I just bought a used car. Is this worth doing?

Strongly yes. You have no idea how many keys the previous owner, their family or a dealer lot made. The car will tell us how many it trusts, and the wipe makes that number match the keys you actually hold.

Someone stole my bag with the fob and my address in it.

Erase the fob today, and consider rekeying the house locks in the same call. A fob plus an address is exactly the combination a professional thief hopes for.

Will this affect my remaining keys?

The keys you bring to the appointment are re-registered as part of the wipe and work exactly as before. Only the absent ones die.
