Open Car Trunk

Trunks play by their own rules, and some deliberately refuse to open while the key sleeps inside.

What this service actually involves

Keys locked in the trunk are a different puzzle from keys locked in the cabin: many cars disable the interior trunk release when locked, and some ignore it entirely while the key is inside as an anti-theft feature. The technician opens the cabin non-destructively, then works whichever release path your specific model honors, mechanical, electronic or through the fold-down seats.

Trunk-only failures are handled too: a snapped trunk key, a dead lock cylinder on an older car, a failed release solenoid. Where the trunk shares the door key, a fresh key solves it; where it does not, the cylinder itself gets serviced.

Questions, answered straight

The trunk release button does nothing.

On many models that is by design while the car is locked or the battery is low, not a fault. The technician knows which trick your model plays and which path around it.

Groceries and my phone are in there, in the heat.

Say so on the call; perishables and medications move the priority up honestly.

Can you open the trunk without opening the car?

Usually the cabin is the correct path in. Direct trunk entry exists for the cases that need it, still without drilling.
